St.Patrick’s day class snack - Pot of gold at the end of the rainbow

Posted by Miranda Weldon on

I love putting together cute snacks for my daughters class! It’s my favorite job as room mom. Our school has a policy that parents can’t cook anything for the class though, which sometimes limits the cute snacks I can make! Parents are allowed to repackage food though, which helps open up some cute options. For St.Patrick’s day I decided to make these cute bags with twizzlers rainbows, marshmallow clouds, gold coins, and a cute bag topper! Supplies needed:  Sandwich bags Bag Topper (I found this one here ) Printer Paper Scissors Staples Mini Marshmallows  Rainbow pull apart twizzlers (I used 4 bags to make...

My Under the Sea Cake DIY

Posted by Miranda Weldon on

We spent a week in Grand Cayman doing lots of snorkeling before my daughter’s 7th birthday, so when I asked her what theme she would like for her party, she choose Under the Sea. I’ve mentioned before that I’m a pretty good baker, but I’m not very a good at decorating cakes. I still love to make my daughters birthday cakes though, so I’m always looking for ways to make the cake look decent without strong decorating skills. Disney’s Enchanted Movie Night

I think Disney’s Enchanted (with Patrick Dempsey, Amy Adams, Susan Sarandon and more) is probably the most under-rated Disney movie of all time! When Disney+ first came out I remember trying to watch it only to realize it wasn’t yet on the platform. I recently read an article that talked about the sequel, Disenchanted, coming to Disney+ later this year. Not only was I super excited for the sequel, but it...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Family Movie Night

As I shared already, in attempt to spend more family time together before my oldest daughter goes to college in a year and a half, I’m challenging myself to do at least 2 family movie nights per month complete with themed snacks. It was time to pick our first movie, I wanted a movie I hadn’t seen yet, but knew enough about to come up with some themed snacks. I was trying to think of some re-makes or sequels I hadn’t yet watched. It then dawned on me that I had never watched the 2014 Ninja Turtles movie (with Megan Fox)....

Family Movie Night challenge

Posted by Miranda Weldon on

My oldest daughter is a junior in high school and it has finally started to hit me that we only have a year and a half left of her living at home before college. I really want to spend more time together as a family while she is still here. Most Friday nights my 6 year old daughter, my husband, and myself watch a movie together. My 6 year old loves movies but we don’t let her watch them on school nights, so she always jumps at the chance to watch one on Friday nights. My teenager usually passes...
