Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Family Movie Night

Posted by Miranda Weldon on

As I shared already, in attempt to spend more family time together before my oldest daughter goes to college in a year and a half, I’m challenging myself to do at least 2 family movie nights per month complete with themed snacks. It was time to pick our first movie, I wanted a movie I hadn’t seen yet, but knew enough about to come up with some themed snacks. I was trying to think of some re-makes or sequels I hadn’t yet watched. It then dawned on me that I had never watched the 2014 Ninja Turtles movie (with Megan Fox)....

Birthday Surprise Raining Balloons

This is such a fun but easy Birthday surprise! It’s super quick to set up and very inexpensive. I also didn’t want to have to store even more Christmas decorations after the holidays were over. I decided I would wrap all the artwork in our house and hang the wrapped artwork back on the walls. The presents hanging all over the house instantly gave our walls a Christmas makeover and it cost...

Easy Hula Girl Doll Cake for Luau Birthday

Posted by Miranda Weldon on

For my youngest daughter’s 6th Birthday she requested a Luau pool party. I’m a very good baker but I’ve never been great at cake decorating. When brainstorming cake ideas I thought I could make, without it looking like it belonged on “Nailed It”, I remembered I had success making a doll cake in the past with a textured skirt. I decided I could make a hula girl doll cake and all I would have to do for the grass skirt was a bunch of lines of green frosting. I knew my daughter had a Barbie wearing a bikini and I...
