Welcome to the blog here at MagpieTayleetot! I'm Miranda, owner and Chief Crafter! I've decided to start a blog to not only share tutorials on fun ways you can use our products but to share all fun crafting and party planning ideas I come up with!
MagpieTayleetot was named after my 2 beautiful daughters, Maggie (who is 6 and currently in Kindergarten) and Taylor (who is 16 and currently a high school Junior). They are the reason I learned to sew and the motive behind most of my crafting! I started sewing 14 years ago when Taylor was 2 years old. I have always loved everything Disney and wanted to make her amazing outfits for Disney World. I bought a basic sewing machine and embroidery machine and started teaching myself how to sew with patterns from the now defunct YouCanMakeThis website.
While most of my crafting is done for my girls, it's my husband, Pat, who often finds the most unusual and challenging projects for me (like an Underquilt for his backpacking hammock or a custom designed leather tool belt). I can't wait to show you lots of fun projects soon!
I absolutely love nothing more than throwing a party and always go way over the top planning every detail and hand making everything! I will share some of the parties I've thrown in the past and bring you along for planning more soon!
I'm a room mom for Maggie's kindergarten class and love crafting everything for the events at school! I hate that because of Covid parents still aren't allowed inside my daughter's school but we have had some outdoor events so parents can attend (thankfully the weather has stayed pretty warm here in Alabama this year) and I've dropped off lots of fun snacks and things for the teacher to share with the class.
